Dear Friends of A Woman's Voice,
What a pleasure it is to share the good news and to send you this report describing all the exciting activities that took place during 1997. Our ongoing programs in India and Africa enjoyed a good deal of success and we even had an unexpected opportunity to expand into West Bengal.
Certainly, it was a terrific year for us and those people who look to our organization for support!
As I look back on our modest history, I am reminded of how your financial contributions helped make these accomplishments possible. Because of your consistent and generous giving we continue to reach out to the world's second class citizens, those human beings least likely to be considered of value by society.
Today, it is my privilege to express my personal appreciation by saying thank you. We truly appreciate you and your compassion. Your willingness to become involved in our work is such an encouragement.
Relationships are built on trust and at A Woman's Voice, we take our responsibility seriously to remain transparent. We know how important it is to maintain good communication. We want to keep you well informed, and welcome any questions, comments or suggestions that you may have.
Tremendous challenges await us in the coming year and your confidence in our efforts is invaluable. Now more than ever we remain committed to our vision to defend the dignity of women worldwide so they may live lives free from brutality and senseless violence.
It is with much gratitude that we are sending this annual review to those of you who denied yourselves to help others. As you read, I hope you experience a deep personal satisfaction knowing that you had a role in making the world a better place for someone else.
